ISIS Is Not Islamic, It Is Human
President Obama touched off an epic conservative conniption last week when, in his speech detailing his strategy to destroy ISIS, he said that the terrorist army that calls itself the “Islamic State” is “not Islamic.” A few days on, though, and even leftists like Bill Maher, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, and liberal The Daily Banter editor Michael Luciano were finding themselves in agreement with Sarah Palin that ISIS is, indeed, Islamic, I mean it’s right there in the name! (Note to Pat Sajack: “ISIS is Islamic” would be the worst Wheel of Fortune puzzle in history.)
For anyone paying attention, though, this isn’t the first time the President has played Islamopologist-in-Chief. This latest bout with denialist happy-talk is completely overshadowing a long history of this sort of thing, up to and including comparing it with good old ‘Merican Chriatianity by telling the Muslims that “Americans share their belief in God’s justice,” and their “insistence on man’s moral responsibility.” Doesn’t anyone remember the President talking about how Islam’s teachings are “good and peaceful,” that the “Muslim faith is based upon peace and love and compassion,” indeed, that Islam itself “is peace!”
Yes, that President. Now, normally, invoking George W. Bush is the surest way to lose an argument, but in this case, an exception is in order. If it makes you feel any better, here’s a bonus Bush-ism from one of those speeches…READ MORE

Well, they all say that “We Are for Country First”. We all know that is a lie. But because it is in their title. We are suppose to believe it?

You can be sure Liberals are in full damage control mode when they start citing George Bush as proof of anything.
edmeyer_able September 15th, 2014 at 13:41
You’re absolutely correct Dems and liberals have never sounded so stupid as when they agree with something that guy has said in the past.

You’re absolutely correct Dems and liberals have never sounded so stupid as when they agree with something that guy has said in the past. But unfortunately unless you spell out exactly what they meant when this was said someone somewhere will try to misconstrue the words.

Islam IS a religion, and ISIS is nothing more than a group of terrorists exploiting the Islamic faith to justify their agenda. Much like the “Army of God”, a Christian organization, kills doctors and blow up clinics in the name of Jesus.
When Christians do bad things, it’s just a few bad apples, not the whole religion.
When Muslims do bad things, the whole religion is violent.
Does anybody else see the double standard here?

When Christians do bad things, there are usually a bunch of Christians decrying it. When Muslims do bad things…

The outrage is there it’s just published as widely.
R.J. Carter September 15th, 2014 at 14:20
That has to change.

it’s published widely – maybe not in your town but the rest of the world seems to have a better grasp on the scene than do most americans sitting safely between two oceans.

It’s all there (and while most of the links I’ve provided are non-mainstream sources, that’s just laziness on my part – I could have found better links). It’s just being ignored by talking heads, and probably by the American media.

listen to the radio from the moyen east and maybe you will learn something about the region other than what anti islamists and frightened westerners say.

Notice a difference in how many gravitate to the extremes of each religion? Count the ‘army of god’ and then count ISIS …
Skydog2 September 16th, 2014 at 07:28
How many people has this army of god killed? How many people has ISIS killed?
Bunya September 16th, 2014 at 09:52
It doesn’t matter how many were killed. They’re both terrorist organizations and to finger one as more violent is absurd.
Besides, if the amount of people killed were important to you, you’d be more outraged at how many people were killed under Dubya’s administration and stop focusing on Bengaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzziiiii,.

I don’t get why people are having a problem with what the President said.
It’s a simple concept…
ISIS is no more representative of Islam than the Westboro Baptist Church is representative of Baptist Christianity.
Skydog2 September 16th, 2014 at 07:26
True, not representative but ISIS members are muslims and WBC members are Christians, just a radical version of the religions.
Of course there are only a few dozen members of the WBC while there are 30,000+ members of ISIS.
Kick Frenzy September 16th, 2014 at 12:14
Exactly, same same… extreme versions.
Also… I can’t help but think of John Lennon at times like these.
