Pope Francis Endorses Use of Force In Iraq

Pope Francis has approved the use of force in Iraq as a means to end Islamic militants from persecuting religious minorities.

In these cases, where there is an unjust aggression I can only say that it is legitimate to stop the unjust aggressor. I underscore the verb ‘to stop’. I am not saying ‘bomb’ or ‘make war’, but ‘stop him’. The means by which he can be stopped must be evaluated” he said, in response to a question about U.S. air strikes against Islamic State insurgents who have taken over most of northern Iraq.

As his five-day trip to Asia ended, he told reporters aboard the papal plane that the United Nations was the best place to discuss the issue.

While Francis encouraged intervention from the international community, he has decided against traveling to the region himself for now.

At this moment, it would not be the best thing to do but I am willing to do it.

Yes well Pope Francis doesn’t have to deal with unintended consequences of humanitarian military intervention. When the neo-cons come to power, again, and use it to justify their world domination agenda, again, we may see this in a different light.

Once again proving that he’s only “good for a Pope,” which is still pretty awful.
