Alabama Man Claims Hospital Accidentally Amputated His Penis

Posted by | July 24, 2014 18:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Top Stories

When an Alabama man went to the hospital for a routine circumcision, things went horribly wrong after he awoke and his penis was gone. According to the man, doctors mistakenly amputated his penis.

Johnny Lee Banks Jr. of Birmingham and his wife, Zelda Banks, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in Jefferson County, according to the AP.

The couple is suing the hospital, doctors and others for what they deem to be medical malpractice, negligence and wrongdoing.

According to the lawsuit, Banks went to Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham last month for a circumcision. The suit claims that the man’s penis was gone when he awoke.

The suit adds that the mistaken amputation has caused the man extreme pain, and that his wife also is suffering.

The suit names the hospital, a urology group, a medical clinic and two doctors as defendants, however, the hospital claims the suit has no merit.

A statement released by hospital spokeswoman Kate Darden said,  “We intend to defend all counts aggressively.”

If the hospital denies the allegations, then who took this man’s penis?

Obligatory “where’s the rest of me?” joke aside, can we be sure that it wasn’t his wife that drew the dotted line?

Amputation in Alabama is just like circumcision less two letters!

Confusing us with Red State again?

That was me, I accept full responsibility. It was just too sweet to pass on – it made me laugh.

Even sadder that this story is on the site at all. But I couldn’t resist it – you know what they say …carpe dickem.

        Agreed.
You shoulda been here when the place was populated by people who sought an escape from the smarm that is so common across the internet.
We had one sensible, adult discussion of issues after the other. We were able to explore serious, sensitive topics in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Sure, there was the occasional troll, but after being told we don’t do things that way and being invited to be more grown up, usually they not only agreed, but were relieved they didn’t have to act that way.
It was a pretty special forum.

I don’t even think we had any moderators. It was pretty much self-policing. It was a lucky break to have a collection such as that in one place because we covered a lot of ground. It was something unique and gratifying.
It would be nice if they chose to have such a forum again, instead of one that is like so many of the others. I see no desire or commitment to have a forum for the kind of discussions described above, however.
The preference seems to be for adolescent, rather than grown-up talk.

you have said it so well – the melange of two sites is rather trite and childish – it’s been years in all my incarnations at LL and each morning I hope it settles down again but it seems to be on a constant downward spiral. Thanks B.

Yeah it’s those damn foreign invaders from FON taking all our jobs and introducing their third world snark. Oh wait, I am one of those invaders. Maybe we should just leave?
The fact that Anomaly and the people she brought over account for a huge percentage the articles on this site now should in no way make us think we have any right to express ourselves as we please. We obviously aren’t as good as you are in the way we live our lives or make our internet commentary.
Yes things were so much better before people dared to make comments about weapons as phallic symbols, something I’m sure Shakespeare never did, except in Hamlet, As You Like It, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, all three parts of Henry VI, both parts of Henry IV, The Tempest, King Lear and all the plays in which I missed the reference.

If they were not interested in that sort of conversation, they’d usually drift away. One exception was RockytheLiberalRottweiler, but that was about it.

Back then the site was not as pretty as it is now. It was ordinary as can be in appearance; but it was easier to navigate and was not cluttered with ads that make Liberaland the place to go if one wants to sign the Impeach Obama petition.
