Televangelist Wants To Convert ISIS Head To Christianity
Bill Keller of Live Prayer says Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi should renounce Islam and embrace Christianity instead. I told him that putting down Islam was not the best way to convert someone to Christianity, but he defended his harsh words about Muhammad and eventually extended his harsh language to gays.
Keller also discussed how his previous life as a convicted felon led him to embrace religion.

Maybe Keller can exchange the who hates more between the two in his attempted conversion, before he gets beheaded. Note how these goofs suddenly find religion when they are deep doo-doo with the law.

Thought I’d let you know. Got bad news the other night; my company is outsourcing our jobs and I will be out of work probably by next March. They have a great severance package (2 weeks pay for every year of service) and I will have been there for almost 18 years at that point. I’ll get paid for about another 6 months with the severance and the company keeps me on their health insurance during that period.

I am so sorry to hear that. But, when one door closes, another opens. You have great things in your future. I know that because I know you. You’ll find an even more awesome job because you deserve it.

Honestly, this isn’t a political issue, rather the advancement of technology that is doing this; the internet. What is happening to my job is about the same thing that is happening to newspapers.

Firstly, Alan, how does your head not explode when you talk with these idiots?? Next, I hope they do talk and find out how similarly ridiculous, and identical, their grievances are with each other and our country.

Perhaps Bill Keller should convert to Christianity.

You were right, Alan, and the lesson applies to us all. If we believe our ideas have more merit than others, and if we wish to persuade others, the way to treat them is with respect and kindness, for it is in such an atmosphere that we are more open to change.
Being harsh, calling people ugly names and otherwise being nasty only causes people to dig in and be more determined to hold those views.
The nastiness is counterproductive and a distraction from persuasive arguments.
There once was a time when this forum was a place where people could disagree in a more convivial atmosphere and it was a welcome break from the crap we see in so many other forums. Unfortunately it didn’t last, but those of us who were here saw having such a forum was possible. We saw the way an absence of nastiness put a greater focus on facts and points made; the result being more constructive discussions in a more mature setting.
