Conservatives Intentionally Making Their Cars Spew Black Smoke To Stick It To Obama, Liberals
Meet the newest form of Conservative protest: Coal runners. It’s also highly disrespectful to everyone around them and the planet they/we live on. Conservatives in pickup trucks intentionally pour out black smoke into the air, for freedom and stuff. They do this to stick it to liberals and Obama. Seriously.
“Coal Rollers” are diesel trucks modified with chimneys and equipment that can force extra fuel into the engine causing dark black smoke to pour out of the chimney stacks. These modifications are not new, but as Slate’s Dave Weigel pointed out on Thursday, “rolling coal” has begun to take on a political dimension with pickup drivers increasingly viewing their smokestacks as a form of protest against environmentalists and Obama administration emissions regulations, according to Business Insider.

Even worse, this form of protest is gaining in popularity.

Last month, Vocativ noted many coal rollers focus their fumes on “nature nuffies,” or people who drive hybrids, and “rice burners,” or Japanese-made cars.
“The feeling around here is that everyone who drives a small car is a liberal,” a roller named Ryan told Vocativ. “I rolled coal on a Prius once just because they were tailing me.”
Weigel spoke to a seller of coal rolling customization equipment who described why some drivers see spewing smoke as a political protest.
“I run into a lot of people that really don’t like Obama at all,” the salesperson said. “If he’s into the environment, if he’s into this or that, we’re not. I hear a lot of that. To get a single stack on my truck—that’s my way of giving them the finger. You want clean air and a tiny carbon footprint? Well, screw you.”
On a Facebook page which is dedicated to this new form of protest, they’ve garnered about 16,000 followers and over 100,000 rolling coal posts have appeared on Instagram and Tumblr.
With this explosion in online attention, the battles between coal rollers and their environmentalist enemies are playing out in social media pages, Youtube videos and internet comment sections. Many of the rolling coal Facebook pages feature memes (like the one pictured on the right) that mock hybrid drivers and liberals. Coal rollers have also posted videos showing their trucks blasting more environmentally efficient cars with smoke.
Opponents of the practice have also taken to the internet. Weigel noted “a mid-June surge of comments” from progressives attacking coal rolling social media pages in the wake of the Vocativ article. In 2012, one outraged YouTube user posted a video entitled “Victim Of Coal Rolling” that showed a pickup shooting fumes at his car.
“Blow your smoke at me you son of a bitch,” the driver says in the video.
Comments on the pickup driver’s side of the argument weighed in.
Because, Confederate coal.
One alleged human replied, “What a loser you are, ain’t nothing wrong with rolling some confederate coal.”
“Stupid ricers. what were you gonna do you bitch?” another supposed human chimed in.
Conservatives are just awful people. Case in point:
“This is hilarious. And it freedom of expression – lefties want to make everyone drive small underpowered vehicles,” one YouTube commenter wrote. “This is a protest to that ideology, and it’s beautiful.”

For years, China followed the right wing playbook on air pollution. Matters came to a head when in 2008 some of the world class athletes coming for the Olympics openly discussed marching in the opening ceremonies wearing masks.
Of course when their towns end up like China, these rolling coalers will blame liberals. Do these idiots not understand that breathing does not have an ideology. I certainly do wish that there was a way to segregate us so that those who want to breathe diesel fumes could do so with impunity. Let them pipe it into the ventilation ducts of their homes if they so choose. But when they poison their air, they are poisoning mine as well.
They fret about loss of 2nd amendment rights, but demonstrate no concern at all for the fundamental innate right to breathe without being poisoned. Just another chapter in the ongoing saga of why right wingers are unfit to govern.

BEIJING — A dense fog shrouded Beijing’s skyscrapers as China’s capital saw its first wave of dangerous pollution in 2014, with the concentration of toxins registering more than 24 times the level considered safe.
The air took on an acrid odor, and many of the city’s commuters wore industrial strength face masks as they hurried to work.
“I couldn’t see the tall buildings across the street this morning,” said a traffic coordinator at a busy Beijing intersection who gave only his surname, Zhang. “The smog has gotten worse in the last two to three years. I often cough, and my nose is always irritated. But what can you do? I drink more water to help my body discharge the toxins.”
The city’s air quality is often poor, especially in winter when stagnant weather patterns combine with an increase in coal-burning to exacerbate other forms of pollution and create periods of heavy smog for days at a time.

I lived in California in the 60s and 70s before they put in a lot of the smog restrictions. It was awful. I had a light blue VW and after 4 days in LA it was charcoal gray. So were the insides of our lungs. These jerks need to be slapped down, just as the gun fetishists do. Their “freedom” ends when it meets OUR freedoms.

Grew up in the San Gabriel Valley in the fifties and sixties, and oh dear God, it was unbelievable. Once had a little league game cancelled on an especially nasty day because nobody could breathe for shit.
In the late sixties and early seventies, living on Catalina Island, the mainland was a thick orange band on the horizon (you can relive the horror by viewing any number of crappy seventies TV movies shot in LA). Santa Ana wind conditions would occasionally blow it all out to the island, thanks mainland!
As you observe, AQMD standards finally brought the air quality to much more reasonable limits, but even still, I occasionally hear someone here in LA complain about “all the smog.”
Brother, this ain’t nothing, is all I can say.

I wonder which radio entertainer these fools will rely on to maintain the list of “liberal” vehicles. The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets 31mpg on the highway. It is not a vehicle that comes to mind when thinking of fuel efficiency. I wonder if they have thought that through. But that would assume that these right wingers are capable of thinking.
This could get interesting. Let’s say some rolling coaler shoots their fumes at a Prius or any vehicle they deem to be representative of liberalismThe driver of the Prius has an asthmatic child in a car seat in the back who breathes the fumes and starts having an attack. Prius speeds up and cuts off the pickup and both pull over to the side of the road. The state is an open carry stand your ground state.
“Law abiding citizens” carrying guns and deliberately poisoning the air we all have to breathe, and just daring you to complain about their boorish lack of concern for the rights of other people. Welcome to right wing America.

In most all states, diesel fuel costs more that gasoline, and those ‘manly’ trucks only get about 15 MPG, if that. Add the costs of modifying the exhaust and/or engine computer systems and they are spending a bunch of money just to piss off the average citizen.

With diesel fuel costing more that gasoline in most every state, and the expensive modifications to the exhaust and engine computer systems being fairly expensive, it’s costing a good deal of money to piss people off by showing your ignorance.
