Who Is The Worst President Since World War II?

Hold onto your hats. Seriously. Make sure you’re sitting down when you read this.

A new Quinnipiac Poll released today revealed 33 percent of Americans believe Barack Obama is the worst president since World War II, followed by 28 percent for George W. Bush and 13 percent for Richard Nixon.

As H.L. Mencken said, “Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.”

    Who are they polling?

    • R.J. Carter July 2nd, 2014 at 11:32

      My guess is people.

      • arc99 July 2nd, 2014 at 11:42

People who apparently believe that 3,000 dead on 9/11/2001, $2trillion spent on a war for weapons that do not exist, failing to get bin Laden and a cratering economy, are nowhere near as bad as 4 dead on 9/11/2012, $500million on Solyndra, killing bin Laden and an improving economy.

No accounting for taste however bizarre or irrational that taste might be.

        • Patriot333 July 2nd, 2014 at 12:02

3,000+ dead, thank Clinton for that. He took the Obama approach, do nothing! Congress voted for the Iraq war, including 110 dems. Obama used much of the intelligence gathered during the Bush years to locate Bin Laden.

The economy failed due to the housing bubble, Mr. Revisionist History. The housing bubble was actually set into
motion during the Carter years as the “Community Reinvestment Act”. President Clinton then fortified the act which REQUIRED banks to make loans to people with poor credit histories or no credit history at all. In time, millions of homeowners had to go into foreclosure as they could not afford their home
mortgage payments. Supply out-exceeded demand, housing prices dropped and the bubble burst. Lesson: once again, Democrats (liberals) had to mess with a viable market and in so doing…..DESTROYED it!

Improving economy? Where? The median middle-class income has DROPPED by $4000. In some locations the unemployment rate is close to 15%.
          Truth hurts, doesn’t it!

          • arc99 July 2nd, 2014 at 12:06

yes the truth does hurt, perhaps that is why you are so completely pain-free.

So President Clinton is responsible for what happens on President Bush’s watch?

. Only banks and savings and loans were subject to CRA jurisidiction, while the overwhelming majority of junk loans came from mortgage shops like CountryWide which had no obligation to comply with CRA. Why not educate yourself before demonstrating your complete ignorance

Now I understand the poll results completely, you Obama-haters are terminally delusional, completely divorced from the real world.

            • Patriot333 July 2nd, 2014 at 12:16

To answer the “Clinton/Bin Laden” debacle ; YUP!
The ENTIRE bubble was put into affect by bills approved by Carter & Clinton….PERIOD!
I have to ask, why the “love fest” for Obama? Are you getting something for nothing, like most libs? What handout(s) are you getting that someone else is paying for?
I am enjoying myself, but gotta GO!

Self-proclaimed “real” American “patriots” are neither.

            • Abby Normal July 2nd, 2014 at 12:25

Yes, it was in such good shape when G.B. left office. America mired in Iraq, a war we had no business being in and an economy on the verge of total collapse. The Clinton administration tried to warn Bush and Company about al Qaeda during the transition but the Bushies didn’t want to hear it. I’ll never forget G.W.B.’s “deer in the headlights” look when he was told about the 9-11 attacks.

              Another bit of history . . .

George H.W. Bush was paying tribute to Jeb Bush one day – before the 2008 presidential election. He broke down in tears. He completely lost it. Jeb had to come to the podium and comfort him. You know why he was sobbing uncontrollably? Because he knew the WRONG son had been elected President. Somehow, his idiot son had gotten elected instead of the son he thought would follow him to the White House.

Jesus Christ. What part of me writing that I no longer or will no longer vote for a republican do you not understand?

I was born in the South and had Jaysus crammed down my throat by my dad until I grew old enough to get tired of his bullshit. I registered as a republican in 1988 when I was a freshman in college. Long time ago, skippy.

I stay a republican here in Tennessee so I don’t get trolled by election calls, and I can vote in the primaries to make sure teabaggers don’t get elected.

Also, there are some moderates that have my respect, as they are very intelligent. I don’t necessarily agree with their politics, but when people can intelligently argue their point of view, I have no problem with it.

On the other hand, when they have nothing to offer but bashing the President and all people that don’t roll around on the floor worshiping white Jesus, while wanting an AR-15 sent from the Lord so they can shoot liberals brown people, then I dismiss them as ignorant, intolerant assholes.

So, if you’re (not your) content on insulting me, then I don’t know what to tell you.

Don’t worry – those same 33% said the best President since WWII is Gen Pinochet.

  8. Stuart Shapiro July 2nd, 2014 at 11:54

This is pretty easy to explain. 33 percent of the public are Republicans. They have to choose between Obama and Carter and since many of them hate Obama with a passion, they will choose Obama. Democrats/reality based folks have Nixon, Bush, and Reagan to choose between and therefore split their votes.

    • M D Reese July 2nd, 2014 at 12:17

I would only add another Bush in there–after all, 43 would not have been possible without 41…

    • Billy Jackson July 2nd, 2014 at 12:33

Exactly. When forced to choose, always pick against the black man.

IN reality I chose NONE of the above while we still have write-in votes

GWB can pick up his award in the Netherlands. Oh, wait, he can not leave the country without the fear of being charged as a war criminal.

    • M D Reese July 2nd, 2014 at 12:16

I keep hoping that some nice country like Canada would do a sting operation on GW and Cheney–you know, invite them over for a reward or tell them they’ve won a free assault-style rifle, and then arrest them when they show up to collect. (I hope that some nice country sees this–)

      • jasperjava July 2nd, 2014 at 21:58

Conservative PM Harper is a neo-con who pines for the return of the fascist B*sh regime.

If it’s all the same to you, I’m going with the poll that actually counts. It was taken a few years ago and the results were verified.

    • R.J. Carter July 2nd, 2014 at 11:59

Thanks for reinforcing the author’s closing statement.

    • Patriot333 July 2nd, 2014 at 12:04

Yeah right, but now, after 5 1/2 very long years, people have gotten a good look at “Mr. Hope & Change”!

      • William July 2nd, 2014 at 12:10

That’s right embrace the butthurt. Instead of whining constantly, perhaps you should engage in some good old fashioned organized resistance?

      • M D Reese July 2nd, 2014 at 12:13

“Patriot” is a dead giveaway. Here’s some guidelines:

They need to get smarter trolls. Reading bumper stickers to us during Glenn Beck commercial breaks isn’t going to help their cause whatsoever

I’ve tried to follow a Sarah Palin word salad transcript from beginning to end–OUCH! Not recommended. She really doesn’t say a damn thing.

        • R.J. Carter July 2nd, 2014 at 12:34

Wow, that’s a tactic that nobody ever thought of before.

They have short attention spans, and no long-term memory, so they need refresher courses once in awhile.

The raw numbers are at the link below.

What makes no sense to me is that the poll also shows that 35% thought our most pressing problems are related to jobs and the economy

When the President took office, unemployment was 7.8%. After spiking as high as 10% during his first year in office, it is now 6.3%. Whatever these people were thinking it was not based on objective criteria.

As William notes below, the only polls that count were taken in November 2008 and 2012.

I can put up with a lot, but I draw the line at this “my country” BS.

. this is my country just as much as it is yours and if this comment gets me reprimanded or banned, I do not care.. I will not stand by and let some right wing idiot pretend that somehow he is more American than I am.. f*ck you/

Self-proclaimed “real” American “patriots” are neither.

Having been born just after WWII, I’d say that it’s a toss-up between GW and Reagan. I lean towards GW, but it’s been pointed out to me that Reagan made GW possible.
