CNN Helps White Assholes Declare Obama Worst President

There’s a new poll out showing that President Obama is the Worst President Since World War II, a poll which CNN reported on with the not-even-skin-deep shallowness we’ve come to expect from the mainstream media. The Quinnipiac poll shows that Obama was rated worst by more respondents than any other president. At 33%, the President was even rated worst by more people than George W. Bush’s 28%, or Richard Nixon’s 13%.

In reporting the news, CNN’s John King joined Bloomberg’s Margaret Talev and Olivier Knox of Yahoo! News in dispensing the analysis that these are not “good numbers,”  that they reflect a “partisan split,” and that Obama is the most recent president, and so the freshest in people’s minds.

What they’re ignoring is that this result was driven entirely by aggrieved conservative white people. While CNN declined to cite crosstabs based on race, they did reference party identification, and here’s how that voting wentREAD MORE

There are snails with longer memories than most Americans. Obviously many respondents are in that category. Only 13% for Nixon? Wow!

Nixon and GW Bush are in a class by themselves. Thousands of Americans died needlessly during their administrations. Nixon was a criminal and, I believe, a traitor. He purposely derailed the Paris Peace Talks to enhance his chances of winning the Presidency in 1968. Tens of thousand of young Americans died as a result – not to mention hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese. He was a truly evil man.

Bush was an idiot. The evil Dick Cheney was the ventriloquist, Bush was his dummy.

Courtesy of Dartagnan at Daily Kos:
    1. Passed Health Care Reform: After five presidents over a century failed to create universal health insurance, signed the Affordable Care Act (2010). It will cover 32 million uninsured Americans beginning in 2014 and mandates a suite of experimental measures to cut health care cost growth, the number one cause of America’s long-term fiscal problems.

    2. Passed the Stimulus: Signed $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009 to spur economic growth amid greatest recession since the Great Depression. Weeks after stimulus went into effect, unemployment claims began to subside. Twelve months later, the private sector began producing more jobs than it was losing, and it has continued to do so for twenty-three straight months, creating a total of nearly 3.7 million new private-sector jobs.

    3. Passed Wall Street Reform: Signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010) to re-regulate the financial sector after its practices caused the Great Recession. The new law tightens capital requirements on large banks and other financial institutions, requires derivatives to be sold on clearinghouses and exchanges, mandates that large banks provide “living wills” to avoid chaotic bankruptcies, limits their ability to trade with customers’ money for their own profit, and creates the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (now headed by Richard Cordray) to crack down on abusive lending products and companies.

    4. Ended the War in Iraq: Ordered all U.S. military forces out of the country. Last troops left on December 18, 2011.

    5. Began Drawdown of War in Afghanistan: From a peak of 101,000 troops in June 2011, U.S. forces are now down to 91,000, with 23,000 slated to leave by the end of summer 2012. According to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, the combat mission there will be over by next year.

    6. Eliminated Osama bin laden: In 2011, ordered special forces raid of secret compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in which the terrorist leader was killed and a trove of al-Qaeda documents was discovered.

Here’s some other of his miserable “accomplishments:”

    Turned Around U.S. Auto Industry

    Recapitalized Banks

    Repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”

    Toppled Moammar Gaddafi

    Reversed Bush Torture Policies

    Improved America’s Image Abroad

Kicked Banks Out of Federal Student Loan Program, Expanded Pell Grant Spending

    Boosted Fuel Efficiency Standards

Coordinated International Response to Financial Crisis

    Passed Mini Stimuli

    Began Asia “Pivot”

    Increased Support for Veterans

Created Conditions to Begin Closing Dirtiest Power Plants

    Achieved New START Treaty

    Improved Food Safety System

    Expanded Wilderness and Watershed Protection

Gave the FDA Power to Regulate Tobacco

    Invested Heavily in Renewable Technology

    Crafting Next-Generation School Tests

Cracked Down on Bad For-Profit Colleges

He will double the national debt by the time he leaves. Record food stamp numbers and record 20% households on food stamps. Poverty level is now as high as it has been since 50 years ago since “war on poverty” began and this makes it a record in terms of absolute numbers. Labor force participation lowest since the 70s, when there was super inflation, and declining. Obamacare meanwhile is highly unpopular with majorities disapproving. And people seem to have short memories since he was dead wrong about people being able to keep their doctors and insurances. And it’s future is very uncertain.

He ended the war in Iraq, props to him, but it collapsed right afterwards.

So all in all despite your list, much of which is minor, repetitious, and shows shallow understanding (next-gen school tests, asian pivot, recap-ed banks, lmao), the underlying trends and negatives simply outway any positives. He simply isn’t a good president or leader for this country. Even Hillary Clinton suggested that he seems to be “aloof” and unable to manage. I may not call him the absolute worst but he is definitely up there.

Goes to show you that Americans have shorter memories than squirrels. The last Chief Occupant started 2 unpaid for wars, sat dumbfounded for 7 minutes on 9/11 while the nation was under attack, had the intel to stop 9/11 but took zero action (was too busy pretending to be a cowboy on his hobby ranch), oversaw the tearing down of regulatory bodies from within by either defunding/underfunding them or packing the agencies with industry insiders, and treated the Great Recession as a minor downturn until he had to sign a 700 billion dollar bailout of the very culprits who precipitated the financial crisis.

Bush43 is the worst president since James Buchanan, the guy who dumped the Civil War in Lincoln’s lap. History and facts don’t lie.

Harry Truman’s approval rating was 23 percent when he left office in 1953. He was, obviously, underrated and under appreciated when he was president. Now he is seen as the president who inaugurated the Marshall Plan and integrated the U.S. Armed Forces.

Now his name almost invariably appears in the top ten of historians’ rankings of best presidents.

I predict President Obama was see a Trumanesque rise in his approval rating after he has left office. His legacy will include, at the very least, saving an economy that was on the brink of collapse and ending a war that cost America dearly and should never have been fought. I believe history will ultimately rate Obama in the top ten best Presidents.

Bush’s presidency was a disaster for America’s foreign policy and economy. It was a nightmare for the 4,000 Americans killed in Iraq and their families as well as the thousands injured and crippled during that war.

This Quinnipiac poll is a meaningless snapshot. Historians will sort it all out in the coming years and Bush will join Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson in the bottom five.

The nature and purpose of a poll makes or breaks each poll. This poll,
which has been historically tried time and again, is idiotic, for the
sitting president ALWAYS scores as worst. It’s more of an examination of
the USA’s memory span or name recognition.

How does Nixon only rate 13%
of the worst vote, as the only president in history to resign to avoid
    removal from office?

And why is it that 18% of 18-29 YOs said Reagan was the best. Of that same demographic, 21% said JFK. How would they know? They weren’t even alive under JFK, or they were at most 4 YOs when Reagan left office. Both presidents have been romanticized as either classic Americana or a great American tragedy. Perhaps both apply. But nobody of that age is equipped to called them “best”. It’s a popularity contest in which the past is now regarded with dewy-eyed nostalgia, while today is a bleak canvass of doom, even when all evidence points to the contrary. Jobs are up, unemployment is down, and that’s without any help whatsoever from the GOP obstructionists.
