Grading On The Curve
Dozens of armed teachers will be sent into Missouri schools next fall, and firearm instructors have promised that they will have an accuracy rate of 90 percent.
The Kansas City Star reported that 10 districts have already paid $17,500 each to have Shield Solutions train two staffers. Those staffers become employees of the firearms training school, and will receive pay in addition to their regular teacher’s salary…
Shield Solutions training supervisor Don Crowley vowed that his students would have an accuracy of 90 to 95 percent at the end of five days of training. Teachers who aren’t at least 90 percent accurate don’t graduate.
Ninety percent accurate, and one hopes that is not graded on the curve. So, some teachers will be armed and potentially have their weapons drawn when the SWAT team arrives at the school. What could possibly go wrong?
For their part, teachers told The Kansas City Star that they were prepared to shoot one of their own students if necessary.
“Especially Billy,” the teacher did not say with a far-away look in his eye, and a smile slowly curling on his lips

I can think of at least one teacher in my past who would have been delighted to shoot us. I had a teacher who was an ex-CIA researcher who used to tell us that she “would be out on parole by now if I had killed you the first time I thought about it.”

I had a teacher who definitely wanted me dead. Maybe I’m just paranoid because he said it a few times….

I did too. She always left town on the week ends and disappeared on holidays as well. The class room was a zoo and she lost control the first week.

Mass shooting won’t happen in these schools now, as mass shooters want to go to gun free zones. So no worry about if the teacher has a gun in-hand when the SWAT comes through the door (finally). But, if that did happen, I guess I’d rather be standing with a gun when the SWAT came through, than laying with a bullet in my chest.
