Press Continues To Prop Up Cheney As Rand Paul Calls Him Out
“If we spend our time debating what happened eleven or twelve years ago, we’re going to miss the threat that is growing and that we do face,” Cheney said. “We’re missing the boat, we don’t understand that nature of the threat, and we’re unwilling to deal with it.”
As Digby helpfully points out:
“Plus, we still need to find those weapons of mass destruction.”
In comments elsewhere — guaranteed to cause cranium-exploding cognitive dissonance among the teawingers — Senator Rand Paul commented on the Iraq mess by blasting the former vice president, eliciting a look of incredulity that David Gregory was not quite able to suppress, on this morning’s otherwise turgid edition of NBC’s Meet the Republicans Press:
Click here for reuse options!“I think the same questions could be asked of those who supported the Iraq War. You know, were they right in their predictions? Were there weapons of mass destruction there? That’s what the war was sold on. Was democracy easily achievable? Was the war won in 2005, when many of these people said it was won? They didn’t really, I think, understand the civil war that would break out. …And what’s going on now — I don’t blame on President Obama.”

Where’s his ventriloquist daughter, why isn’t she sitting by his side?

Really, normally she uses her hand, inserted into a body cavity, to manipulate his lips when she speaks for him.

I think it’s the other way around. Cheney is the puppetmaster, and Liz is the broken child who is so desperate for her father’s love that she would do or say anything to warm his cold, cold heart. Sad and pathetic, really.
It’s bad enough that a slime bucket like D!ck Cheney has reproduced; but to raise a child to become a savage right-wing venom spewer, that’s unforgivable. It’s child abuse.

Were there weapons of mass destruction there? No but Halliburton Cheney’s $6 T faux oil war spiked Big Oil 10-fold from Clinton’s $12-$14/brl to US Record $147/Brl with $5/Gal Gasoline in 2008. Asked ‘What was your best day?’ Cheney actually replied “9/11.”
“I looked at the calendar yesterday, and I couldn’t believe my eyes—9/11 is almost here!” a rosy-cheeked Cheney said upon returning to the White House Sunday with two giant bags overflowing with gift-wrapped boxes and big red bows. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” http://www.theonion.com/articles/cheney-waits-until-last-minute-again-to-buy-sept-1,2521/

“If we spend our time debating what happened eleven or twelve years ago, we’re going to miss the threat that is growing and that we do face,”
If we don’t spend our time debating what happened, then we leave ourselves susceptible to the GOP lies and trickery that lead us into a quagmire, and Cheney’s Halliburton 39.5 billion richer.

Back in the day I used to think Tricky Dick (why do they all have that same name?) was the worst possible, but this Dick and his puppet so far surpassed Nixon in their cold-heartedness and greed that it’s mind-boggling.

There were about a half dozen or so terrorist attacks on Cheney’s watch, including the largest terrorist attack against the United States ever. Osama bin Laden was killed on Obama’s watch, not Cheney’s. What part of all that does Dick expect us to pretend never happened?
