Absolutely Nothing: A Veteran’s Savage Indictment of the Iraq War (via Americans Against The Tea Party)

Tragically, all we’ve fought for in Iraq, all that 4,500 American lives were shed to gain, is on the cusp, potentially, of vanishing. – Mitt Romney, “Ideas Summit,” 6/13/2014 All we fought for in Iraq. All we fought for in Iraq is on the cusp…

it’s the middle of the night in the usa right now but when I check this article later my evening there had better be 1000+ comments and reactions from the intelligentsia – maybe from wahoo too – or the usa and the site deserve no more attention. This is the state of the usa with its racism and just plain religious lunacy and intolerance and its hidden freedom that is cached by a buy buy public.

“I’ll dig out my uniform and strap on my pistol and gird up my sword and ride into battle yet again.
Drag Just so long as Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, and every single one of those powdered, Botoxed talking heads at Fox News are in the vanguard”

    YES…
Drag one of my old aircraft out of the boneyard at Davis Monthan, and I’ll personally fly their flag waving asses over to the hot zone desert shithole of their choice so we can see what REAL patriots are made of.

nothing says ‘I’m sorry we LIED our asses off to you and yours for massive increases in our offshore bank accounts in Dubai ” better than …

      MONEY!!!

      lots and lots of

      MONEY!!!

like in US Justice Department freezing and seizing all offshore bank accounts opened to US Citizens until it is established WHERE the money in the accounts came from!

follow the monies made from the blood sweat and tears of our warriors and redistribute (say, post combat BONUSES, cause it sounds less communist!).

and leave them with a very nice and well considered

      FU2 -double thumbs up!

Probably the best commentary on the Iraq war and the situation we are in now. Must read.

can only HOPE someone in the White House has caught this and placed a nice printed copy on the POTUS desk right beside the telephone in case he decides to make a friendly hello call to Putin’s new BFF’s in the US Legislative Branch – even if he is wearing ‘mom’s jeans’.

Standing by for Bob Waas to come by and remind us that it is all the fault of the Democrats who voted for the war in 2003, and of course President Obama.

    • granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 15:21

GOPs have already conceded that it’s a ‘SHARED’ GUILT by the previous POTUS (who is no loner in office) – the current despot who was selected by the coalition of the willing of the previous POTUS (who is no longer in office) – and the current POTUS (who is serving in office) – with it being the current POTUS having the responsibility of correcting the ‘SHARED GUILT’ – otherwise he will be a complete and total failure who must be held fully accountable for ‘SHARED GUILT’ – even with his fake long form Hawaiian birth certificate!

    • fancypants June 16th, 2014 at 03:14

get ready for BOB to quote you on things you never said

I don’t think I’d let McWalnuts touch another plane. He crashed 5 before he succeeded in getting captured as a POW – then he sang like a birdie.

    • Dwendt44 June 15th, 2014 at 16:09

Not to mention the little fiasco on the Enterprise. He was the only one ‘punished’, if that’s the word, for the disaster. January of ’69 a missile miss fired and started a huge fire on the flight deck loaded with armed aircraft. McCain’s conduct wasn’t explained, period though claims of horseplay by this clown started the mess. He was summarily transferred off the ship. That’s considered a black mark on your record.

GOP battlecry: Let’s redouble our 4,486 US KIA in Iraq plus another $6 T wasted ushering in a new lost decade so that big oil bellyaching Koch brother devotees can yell ‘We don’t need no federal guberment’.

    • granpa.usthai June 15th, 2014 at 14:31

“it’s taken 10 years and 4,400 lives for US to get where we are now in Iraq” (RWNJ excuse for jumping back in with both feet before thinking – AGAIN)

-does this mean that 20 years and 8,800 lives for US will result in a situation like we now have in Iraq 2X?

and we can do what different THIS time than LAST TIME that will have an outcome we consider favorable to our sacrifices? –

      1. ask Maliki very nicely this time not to be as ruthless?
      2. beg Maliki very nicely this time not to be as ruthless?
      3. blow up as much of the opposition as possible, declare ‘Mission Accomplished 2’ and wait another 3-4 years before asking Maliki very nicely to not be as ruthless?

Whoever wrote this doesn’t seem to know much about the intelligence going into Iraq, especially for someone who claims to have been in military intelligence. He is rather ignorant of the reasons for going to war in Iraq, which is again surprising since he claims he was there. You would think he would take an interest in finding out why we were invading Iraq. While I’m sure there are democrats in the military, usually they are not like most civilian democrats, that is to say, America hating, military hating racists. This guy is the exception.

    • mea_mark June 15th, 2014 at 14:04

If you know so much why don’t you enlighten us. Or are you just trolling?

    • arc99 June 15th, 2014 at 14:34

you are clearly quite confused. first of all, the only America-haters I know of are the Cliven Bundy apologists who hate this country so much, they will pick up a gun and threaten violence against sworn law enforcement officers. your clear hatred for millions of your fellow citizens is also indicative of where the hatred in this country originates.

Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Bob Kerrey, Jimmy Carter, Charlie Rangel, Max Cleland, the founder of leftist website Daily Kos Markos Moulitsas, Tammy Duckworth are just a few prominent Democrats who served with distinction.

No one can control how things “seem” to you. Your misconceptions are your problem and no one else’s. The author of the article has fully disclosed his name and background. If you have objective information to support your rants about his background, then share it.

Otherwise, you are just another low information right wing apologist who actually believed Iraq would cost no more than $50billion and we would be welcomed as liberators.

    • William June 15th, 2014 at 19:40

OK Genius. Please enlighten us all and explain just why we went into Iraq.
We’re waiting. (BTW, this Democrat veteran actually is retired military).
Further, the author is a retired Warrant Officer, Naval Intelligence. That means he walks the walk, IE he worked his way up from Enlisted.
