Rand Paul Performs The Triple Salchow of Double-Speak
“Everybody’s gone completely crazy on this voter ID thing,” Mr. Paul said in an interview. “I think it’s wrong for Republicans to go too crazy on this issue because it’s offending people.”
But of course his new-found enthusiasm for voting rights was short-lived as by Monday Doug Stafford, Paul’s former chief of staff who now leads his political action committee explained to Wingnuttia that Paul’s quote was taken out of context:
“Sen. Paul was having a larger discussion about criminal justice reform and restoration of voting rights, two issues he has been speaking about around the country and pushing for in state and federal legislation,” Stafford said… Stafford explained that in the course of Paul’s discussion with the Times, he “reiterated a point he has made before that while there may be some instances of voter fraud, it should not be a defining issue of the Republican Party, as it is an issue that is perhaps perceived in a way it is not intended.”
“In terms of the specifics of voter ID laws, Sen. Paul believes it’s up to each state to decide that type of issue,” Stafford said.
And Senator Paul spikes his landing and gets a perfect 10 points from the Russian judge!
State rights is the Get-Out-of-Jail-Free Card of the right. Paul gets his libertarian street creed lavishly tongue-bathed (even by the Left when he commits Wingnuttian apostasy) and then his staff blames the Lamestream media for taking it out of context, but only in the conservative press. Let me know in the comments if you see a correction at the NYTimes, you know, if Stafford sent out a press release to the media outlet that first posted the story. I’ve got all day.
It’s an effective strategy, dick-ish as it may be. And less we all forget, Paul previously expressed unease with the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

So, how does Rand Paul feel about republicans going crazy on voting ID laws at the state level? He makes everything clear as mud. ¿

only if they release the list of the WHITE RACIST fellow Americans ‘just like us’ that were at das bunker line. American people have a right to know who our heroes are, even when WHITE Racist Republicans want them to be well hidden.

Well just as I predicted; Ayn Rand Paul can’t back pedal fast enough( and Alan doubted me). Cultist Paulist minion Libertarians are synonymously lie loving with tea party birther racists; they are now one and the same.
