I just finished reading
Simpler by Cass Sunstein, the regulatory czar during President Obama’s first term. Sunstein does a nice job of advocating for policies that “nudge” people toward choices that would make them happier in the long run. He advocates policies that set default rules (like having people opt out of becoming organ donors instead of opting in), graphic cigarette warnings that make clear the dangers of smoking, and reviewing regulations regularly to make sure they are working.
