Incoming Drone Attack? There’s An App For That

Whether you’re at a wedding in Afghanistan or out for a walk between episodes of Alex Jones, you might be worrying about drone attacks. It seems that you can never see them until it’s too late and there are so many false alarms. Until now there was no way to really know for sure what that was you saw up in the sky.

But wonder no more. Apple has given the go-ahead on an application which will alert you to all U.S. drone strikes. It wasn’t easy to get approval, yet persistent journalist Josh Begley, finally got the OK from Cupertino.

When Begley first submitted the draft of Drones+ to Apple in 2012, the company said the app was “not useful or entertaining enough,” or that it “did not appeal to a broad enough audience.” A later rejection said that Drones+ “contains content that many audiences would find objectionable.”

The Metadata+ app is free at the App store and now available for download.
