The man accused of sending poison, ricin-laced letters to President Obama and Senator Roger Wicker was once hired by Wicker, the senator says.

“He’s an entertainer. He’s an Elvis impersonator. He entertained at a party that my wife and I helped give for a young couple that was getting married. He was quite entertaining,” Wicker told reporters at the Capitol on Thursday. “A number of couples gave a party and he was the entertainer and we kicked in on our share.”

Curtis, 45, was charged with making threats to Obama, Wicker and a local Mississippi official, a day after the FBI arrested him. He is accused of mailing letters containing the poison ricin, and was expected in federal court later Thursday. If convicted, he faces 15 years in prison, the Associated Press reported.
