My father was three years old when his family left Russia because of the pogroms. My mother’s parents left Russia around the same time, and she was born here. My ancestors left Russia years before the Bolshevik revolution of 1917. I am, nevertheless, impressed that you are an authority on my mother’s feelings for her country.
